Suspect On Loose After Shooting Two, Killing One, In Westchester

Police are investigating a fatal overnight shooting that left one dead and another injured near a recently opened apartment complex in Mount Vernon.

Officials said that one man was shot dead and another injured shortly after midnight on South Macquesten Parkway, near The Modern, which was under construction for several years before opening up late last year.

One man was pronounced dead at the scene. The other was being treated for injuries at an area hospital. His condition was not available on Wednesday afternoon.

No other details were immediately released by police. Detectives are actively investigating the shooting.
